Sports Therapy and Sports Massage 

Sports Massage is a deep tissue massage technique. The aim of the massage is to alleviate the build up of stress and tension within the muscles. 

The massage can be quite intense to the muscles, so you may find you experience some of the following symptoms after your massage:

  • Tiredness

  • Heightened Emotions

  • Sounder Sleep

  • Cold Symptoms

  • Stuffy or Blocked Nose

  • Increased Thirst

  • Muscle Tenderness

  • Bruised Feeling within the Muscle

  • Redness to the area

In order to get the most out of your massage, ensure you do the following after your massage:

  • Drink plenty of water

  • Rest as much as possible 

  • Avoid any exercise or any strenuous work

  • Apply ice or heat (your therapist will advise) to any sore or tender areas

 

Acupuncture and Dry Needling Acupuncture 

Acupuncture can be quite an intense treatment method to the muscles treated and to the areas where referred symptoms are. 

Because of this you may experience some of the following symptoms are treatment:

  • Tiredness and Fatigue

  • Muscles tenderness and soreness to the areas treated and any places where referred pain was felt

  • Bruising to the area/s treated

These symptoms can be eased by carrying out the following, after your treatment:

  • Drink plenty of water

  • Rest as much as possible 

  • Avoid any exercise or any strenuous work

  • Apply ice or heat (your therapist will advise) to any sore or tender areas
